Abstract

We investigate the in-medium properties of pion in the light-front quark model, using the in-medium quark masses computed by chiral SU(3) quark mean field model. We calculate the decay constant and distribution amplitude of the pion in an asymmetric nuclear medium. Utilizing these findings, we derive the transition form factor (TFF) for the process gamma* gamma -> pi_0 in asymmetric nuclear medium. We compare our free space and in-medium TFF results with the available experimental result, which is found to be in qualitative agreement. This work contributes valuable insights into the behavior of pion within nuclear environments.

Summary

Studies the pion transition form factor for gamma* gamma -> pi_0 in asymmetric nuclear medium. Calculates in-medium decay constant and distribution amplitude using LFQM with chiral SU(3) CQMF model, finding qualitative agreement with experiment.
